Training-2nd-Defenders

It was the second and final part of a series of training courses tailored for groups of activists, human rights organizations and Palestinian civil society groups. The aim of the sessions was to develop the capacity of activists working in the field of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.

Twelve activists participated in the three day session which examined issues such as the rights of the civilian population under occupation, settlements, Jerusalem, prisoners of war and the advisory opinion of International Court of Justice on the wall. The training also examined the mechanisms of accountability for war criminals.

The Center for Applied International Law was established as a legal training center for lawyers and human rights defenders with the aim of developing the skills and expertise necessary for the practical application of human rights law and international humanitarian law.
