Al-Haq presents an inclusive introduction into the applications of the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) within the context of the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT). The film includes an introduction and discussion of the foundations and principles of IHL as well as an exploration of the concept of occupation, citing relevant international legislation including the Geneva Conventions and Hague Regulations. Given the nature of Israel’s occupation of the OPT and the Palestinian experience, issues related to occupation, such as pillage, population transfer, Palestinian prisoners, house demolitions and illegal annexation of territory are examined in this educational film. The film is available in Arabic and English and also includes sign language in both versions. Shorter segments of the overall film are provided covering specific topics.
