Palestinian Human Rights Organisations Send letter to ICC Prosecutor Calling on him to Intervene to Prevent Genocidal Massacre in Rafah, and to Issue Arrest Warrants for All Members of Israeli War Cabinet
18، May 2024

On 17 May, 2024, the General Directors of Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, Al-Haq, and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights wrote to Mr Karim A. A. Khan KC, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, to address the grave situation unfolding in the occupied Gaza Strip. They called for immediate intervention from Mr Khan, with a catastrophic ground invasion of Rafah underway, and warned that if left unchecked, Israeli attacks on Rafah carry the looming risk of an unprecedented bloodbath due to the area’s high population density.

Mr Issam Younis, Mr Shawan Jabarin and Mr Raji Sourani also commended Mr Khan, for his staunch position amidst the threats and pressure directed towards the Court and his Office in attempts to deter him from pursuing ongoing investigations into the Situation in Palestine or other situations.

They urged Mr Khan to take decisive action to prevent further atrocities and international crimes from taking place in the Gaza Strip, including the immediate issuance of arrest warrants for all Israeli war cabinet members, particularly those with decision-making powers.
