Following the initial report submitted by the State of Palestine to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) on 16 November 2020, according to Article (16) and (17) of the UN Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Al-Haq submits this parallel report for the CESCR’s 69th Pre-Sessional Working Group, as part of Al-Haq’s commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights of the Palestinian people, including the rights within the Committee’s monitoring mandate. In this report, Al-Haq aims to shed light over a number of gaps the State of Palestine needs to bridge, and the necessary steps to take to achieve the full enjoyment of the Covenant rights.
